  2. This area contains datasheets for several members of the ARM RISC family of
  3. CPUs and their associated support chips.
  4.  
  5. Please read and observe the rulings laid down in the "ARMDisclaimer" text
  6. file in this directory.

  8. Chips currently covered in this area include:
  9.  
  10. ARM60:   The ARM6 processor core, packaged with JTAG boundary scan.
  11. ARM610:  The CPU used in the Acorn Risc PC 600.
  12. ARM710:  The CPU used in the Acorn Risc PC 700.
  13. ARM7500: The "all in one" chip used in the A7000 and by Online Media in the 
  14.          STB2; comprises an ARM704 core, VIDC2L and range of distributed 
  15.          components from IOMD, along with a 4K cache.
  16. VIDC20 : The video controller used in the Acorn Risc PC.
  17.  
  18. Right now the documents are available as discrete chapters in PostScript;
  19. we're looking into HTMLing them for the WWW server, and possible conversion
  20. into other formats too.

  22. Also available for anonymous ftp from ftp.cl.cam.ac.uk:/arm is a version of
  23. the ARMulator, supplied as UNIX C source under the terms of the GNU General
  24. Public Licence; this version is known to compile using GCC 2.6.0 on a Sun 4.
  25. Other builds are untested.

  27. The ARMulator runs as a process, and provides an emulation of the ARM6
  28. instruction set; the emulated processor communicates via TCP with the gdb
  29. utility running on the host system.

  31. Also required to use the Armulator is gdb-4.13, along with its ARM/RDP/RDI
  32. extensions. A version of gdb with these extensions is available from the same 
  33. ftp site as the ARMulator.
